“Home” is a powerful and universal word. Much more than a dwelling, home almost seems to be a state of mind. Come hear what our speakers, Ryn Corbeil, Carolyn Owen-Towle, and Harriet Wright have to say about this topic. The Close Enough Band will provide the music. Empty Bowls will follow the service.
March 28: What’s in a Name? Guest Minister: Elka Cartmell-Ladd
Names can be both meaningless and meaningful, sometimes at the same time. What power is there in our naming of objects, of ourselves, of the holy? Elka Cartmell-Ladd is a student at Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago and is currently serving as Intern Minister at First UU Church of San Diego. She holds a B.A. in Theatre and Film and enjoys bringing this background into her ministry. She was an active leader in YRUU and is currently serving as Facilitator for the Steering Committee of the Church of the Younger Fellowship, the young adult ministry of the Church of the Larger Fellowship. Our choir will sing.
