Please Attend: Special Congregational Meeting - Sunday, October 26, 2008
The meeting will begin at 11:30 am in the sanctuary for Summit voting members to vote on three issues dealing with establishment of an endowment fund for Summit: (1) an amendment of our congregation Bylaws that, if approved, will include a specific Article in the Bylaws that will legally establish the Summit UU Fellowship endowment fund; (2) if the Bylaws amendment is approved by voting members present, a congregation resolution (that details “how” the endowment fund will be managed for the congregation) will be considered; and, (3) if the resolution is approved by 85% of voting members present, voting member election of three endowment fund trustees will occur. A formal notice of this upcoming special meeting will be mailed to each member not later than October 18th. The mailed announcement will include a good faith summary of the Bylaws amendment and the resolution recommended by the Board of Directors. The announcement will also include Nominating Committee endowment fund trustee recommendations. This is a very important meeting for Summit’s financial future, so please plan on attending.
